Why you should try it?

It super crispy, yummy and much more budget-friendly than what you buy from fast-food outlets. A perfect snack for tea-time munching.

When you buy chicken you get some boneless pieces too. Keep them aside for this recipe. It’s not necessary to buy them separately, unless you have many members.

Chicken popcorn is a popular snack today. It can be made at home with different ingredients to enhance the flavour and crispiness.

This recipe can be made on those rainy evenings when the craving for snacks reaches the peak. But once you try this home-made snack, you can’t wait for it to rain again. Its a super easy-to-make recipe and requires very less preparation time.

So, let’s get started.

Ingredients

Boneless chicken pieces cut into bite sized cubes (300 gms)
Ginger paste ( half teaspoon)
Garlic paste (half teaspoon)
Fresh coriander leaves paste (2 tablespoons)
Mint leaves paste - optional (1 teaspoon)
Pepper powder (1 teaspoon)
Red chili powder (1 teaspoon)
Salt to taste
Cornflour (2 tablespoons)
All purpose flour - optional (1 tablespoon)
Refined oil for frying ( 1 cup)

Procedure

1. In a bowl, marinate the chicken bits with all ingredients except salt, oil,  cornflour and all purpose flour. Keep aside for 15 minutes.

2. Take the marinated chicken and add the salt. Give it a nice mix. Now add the corn flour and all purpose flour. The chicken should be coated well in a film of this sticky flour mix.

3. Heat oil in a kadai. Gently drop the chicken one by one. Do not over crowd the kadai. Wait for one side to turn golden brown. Then flip them over carefully for even frying.
4. Drain and take them out on a plate lined with tissue paper.

And it’s ready to be served with lime wedges, onion rings and ketchup.
