No-Oven Vegetable Pizza

Why you must try this recipe?

Because you can make the yummy pizza in minutes replicating the exact taste of your favourite pizza joint, that too WITHOUT AN OVEN!

“Let’s have pizza”. This phrase brings smile on everyone’s face, be it kids or adults. One of the most popular global fast food is well enjoyed over a cricket match, gossips, movie and so on. The crunchy toppings and the melting cheese makes it drool worthy in taste.

Although we think there’s no easier option than ordering a pizza from a popular pizza delivery shop, fact is, this recipe will make you think otherwise. You will be addicted to making pizza at home once you try this quick and easy method. Plus, it gives the exact taste if you include the requisite ingredients.

Let’s get started.

Ingredients

For the base

All purpose flour (2 cups)
Water to knead
Salt
Sugar (Half teaspoon)

For the toppings
One capsicum (sliced)
One onion (sliced)
One tomato (sliced)
Oregano (2 tablespoons)
Crushed pepper (1 tablespoon)
Chili flakes (1 teaspoon)
Tomato ketchup (3tablespoons)
Grated cheese (1 cup)
Refined oil (1 teaspoon)

Tip: You can add your choice of toppings (olives, mushrooms, sweet corn kernels or even paneer. For non-veg pizza include fried chicken cubes. Stir fry chicken with salt, turmeric and lime juice).

Procedure

For the base

1. Mix the all -purpose flour with salt and sugar. Knead with required amount of water for a firm but very soft dough. Roll it out with triple thickness of a chapati. Pierce all over with a form to avoid it from rising and even cooking.

2. Heat a pan or kadai. Place the pizza base on it and cover with a lid. Keep the flame low. After a couple of minutes turn the base and cook the other side for another minutes. Insert a fork to check it’s cooked from inside too.

3. Repeat instruction number 2 for the second pizza base (the quantity of dough is for 2 small size pizzas).

Top it up

It’s time to assemble

1. In a kadai add one teaspoon oil and add the sliced veggies. Stir them on high heat to retain the crunchiness plus adding a charred flavour. Remove from heat after 4 minutes.

2. Spread the ketchup first. Sprinkle the crushed pepper, add the grated cheese, veggies, oregano and chili flakes.

3. Pre-heat the kadai for a couple of minutes. Put the pizza back into it and cook with the lid on for 5 minutes or till the cheese bubbles. Remember to keep the flame low.

4. Transfer from kadai to a plate. Wait for few minutes as it will be too hot to cut into slices immediately.

I’m certain that your folks will love it and often ask for it as mine do. Enjoy your snack with a cup of lemonade or virgin mojito.

Leave a reply or comment below about how it turned out for you.
